During a telephone conversation yesterday …
The woman I was speaking with asserted the following:
“It’s really a shame how it is stigmatized by so many people. They assume you brought it upon yourself. They just don’t have any clue. If people were just better informed and less judgmental … I wouldn’t receive the looks. And trust me … you can tell when people are looking. It’s embarassing !”

And basis for the comment:
Her cold sore.

sounds like another victim of the slick willy oval office to me. those “cold sores” can last for years ya know.

Amy, Amy, Amy…..I don’t insult friends or even friends of friends….the ‘muppet’ & ‘gimp’ terms were directed at the nice lady to whom you were talking. I guess I find it somewhat funny that she could have made such a mountain of of a molehilll (so to speak)….honesly – it’s a very insular world some of us live in!!! And yes, I know you have a ‘funny’ sense of humor.

My old doc many years ago suggested when I felt a cold sore starting to dampen the corner of my mouth where it started and dab on table salt. It knocks out most of mine before they progress.

You know, I always thought it was a “coal sore”. All my life I’ve looked down on people, thinking “stop sucking on dirty black rocks”.

I don’t think she is … she has no idea of my past and we were having a very pleasant conversation about all things trivial and at one point I was giving her my home remedy to defeat a cold sore attack and that’s when she said what she said …
I just thought it was interesting how easily it could sound as applying to t’ism or a variety of other situations. (Actually I found it funny, but that’s just because I have a dysfunctional sense of humor.) *shrug* 🙂
