Future Rejection

I’ve lost count … it’s something like 5 applications to Survivor … 1 to The Mole … countless attempts in the old days to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire …

Then you have the Amazing Race, which honestly would be my favorite reality-show on which to participate …

But I’ve had nothing but silence in response to my applications. Nary even a rejection letter.

Nothing.

But that’s not going to stop me from trying.

And once again … it was announced … there’s going to be another Survivor … to air in the Fall of 2004. (The next Survivor airing in January/February has already been filmed and is comprised only of past Survivors.)

Applications are due by January 27, 2004 with filming expected to take place in April and May. For those people with lives who have never applied, in addition to completing a roughly 10 page application and providing a copy of your passport … you must supply a 3 minute video of yourself. (Psssst … I think that’s their way to legally get around any discrimination issues and only pick people they deem visually acceptable to continue on in the application process. Yeah, I know … the silence I hear from them suggests they don’t considered me television friendly. :P)

Amyways … this will be the first time I’m applying as Amy. I don’t intend to bring attention to my T-ness,

As I won’t reference it at all in the video I have planned to accompany this application …

But it’ll most likely be noticed, especially the inconsistency between my application name and my passport, along with their medical requests …

And honestly, if given the chance, I doubt I’d want to out myself in such an extreme fashion as placing myself on national television if given the opportunity …

But you wait and see, this time will be the one time that those bastards actually will want to talk to me !! 🙂

  1. If you waited to be post-op you’d be less likely to poison the well of your opportunities.

You do realize that the entertainment industry is exempt from anti-discrimination legislation in important ways when it comes to stage and screen “performers”. It’s why all the Disney employees at Disney World and Disneyland must spend at least one day each year working their venue as “perfomers”, even if they are back office staff.
