Rebound

Last Saturday a cold decided that it had a problem with my attitude,

And promptly made very successful efforts to kick my ass for the last three days.

My throat was so sore I could barely swallow (whatever),

My head throbbed in pain,

My nose decided to be congested and runny at the same time,

Something I really didn’t even realize was possible (Dr. 172, can you explain?),

I did the whole cold sweat thing off and on for days,

And yesterday I worked my tail off here in the office making sure I spread my condition on anyone I could encounter.

Oh yeah,

And I totally lost my appetite.

However, today …

At 11:37 p.m. eastern standard time,

My appetite has returned,

I’m phreaking starving !!

So as McDonald’s calls my name …

I warn you dear viewers,

This is what is called the binge,

Of my Binge and Purge.

Back later !! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Amy sweet,
Sorry to make an off-topic comment, but would you be so lovely as to look at the latest entry in my blog? There are some issues I’d really appreciate your input on.
    Thanks!

  2. ROFLMAO Too funny you nut !!! LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the explanation !!

Oh yeah, and just for the record … I suppose in my case, it might have been both … inflammation AND PMS ! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Amy,
Congestion and a runny nose (aka rhinorrhea) are both signs of inflammation. They commonly do occur together. Or in your case, it could be PMS. It’s your call.

  4. Tasmin,
getting good Indian or Pakistani or Thai food depends on if you’re in an international landing zone, or there’s high tech going on in your region. There’s so many Indians and Pakistanis in the Bay Area because of their insourcing (my new term for bringing people in under H1B Visa abuses), that lots of restaurants for them have grown to serve the need.

    Amy dearest,
just be careful not to get too tied to eating so much. You never know when you’ll go through “The Change”, and you won’t be able to burn off those calories quite so easily. Just a warning, my dear!

    Hugzz!

  5. Ah, but I can surpass even Amy’s exertions in the dining room. When I started hormones, my appetite went ballistic. I ate five large plates of curry and rice at my local tandoori house in one sitting – and still had room for more.

To the best of my knowledge, this is quite normal, at least initially. Female hormones are steroids, and they cause big changes in the body (why else would we take them?). These changes demand fuel. The slightly disturbing thing is that Amy still has such an enormous appetite after so long on hormones.

BTW, can you get quality Indian or Pakistani food in the States? If Amy ever discovers the joy of Balti, then they’ll be no stopping her…

  6. wouldn’t really believe you could actually consume all of that….if i hadn’t already witnessed you doing so myself. seriously kinda freaks me out. good job though.

  8. 1 McChicken Sandwich
    1 Filet O’ Fish
    1 Double Cheeseburger
    1 Medium Fry

A little something from each of the McDonald’s Four Food Groups …

    I’m satisfied. ๐Ÿ™‚
