• The following quote was written by a very talented woman, about a dear friend who, like me, suffers from transsexualism. It is a single sentence that wasn’t really the focus of the writing, but it’s such a succinct, true statement about what I’m feeling right now, as I am close to making a transition decision, that I just wanted to repeat it:

……[o]nce you enter those rapids you can’t stop. You survive or drown.

Those words freak me out ….. they are so pretty, but blunt …… there are no ties in transitioning …… you win or you lose ……. your survive or you drown …..

• Wooo hooooo Jumping Up and down …Up and down …. Michigan won !! And did they ever look good !!!! Wow …. next year has such potential !!! I can’t wait !! Oh …. and no one took my Interactive Blog Bet ….. granted ….. I only posted it a couple of hours before kickoff …. and I don’t know how much traffic I get in the AM hours of New Year’s Day !! lol (gawd, I hope not much, I hope you all have a much more exciting life than I !!) ….. but still ……. I guess no one wanted to see what I look like …. ;P

• Shaft wants to know what I am going to do ….. if I go on my walka-bout …. will I return ?? He wants to know because it has legitimate financial issues for both of us …… I made the commitment to him that I’ll cover my share of the overhead while I’m walka-bouting ….. but what about when I’m done walka-bouting ….. what about when I’m settling into a post-transition life ……..

Let’s think about this …. if I don’t plan on returning from my walka-bout …. we can scale down the firm overhead (everything is a variable cost, I know what the hell I’m doing), Shaft can still only cover what his current share of overhead is and I’ll cover the excess, which scaled down, will be less than my share is now …. I’d do that for at least a year …. this has the benefit of keeping the firm name in place with name recognition value from that, and Shaft doesn’t interrupt his revenue stream nor increase his existing overhead ……. OR ……. we can keep the firm overhead at its present level and Shaft can bring someone in to replace me, in which case, Shaft won’t have to cover any more cost than he does now, I’d commit to cover my share of the overhead until he found someone to replace me ……SO …… I guess ….. then whether or not I return to the firm after my walka-bout ….. if Shaft wants to keep the firm going ……… he can keep the firm going ……:) ……. kewl
