Mashed potatoes need not be ordinary. They can be a starting point for flights of culinary imagination. Try adding cheese, bacon and chopped grilled onion – yum! Or, add peeled roasted chiles and some crushed garlic. Sometimes for a zingy difference I add fresh lime juice when I serve mashed potatoes with fish.
