Rent – Quiz

So, I’m going to see Rent tonight with Miss Daisy !!

Too fun !! 🙂

Most of my gay or lesbian friends totally seem to love the play,

And as a good friend, I know I should have taken a prior interest in at least learning a bit about the play so that when said friends are picking up other guys or girls at the bars,

And they start reciting lyrics to one another from one of the songs in the play, as they so often do,

I’d know what they are doing …

Instead of having that confused look on my face and causing some 20-something rookie flamer just out of the closet to roll his eyes at me and mutter …

“Who let the thraight chick in?”

Whatever. 😉

Anyways, surprisingly, I do have a defense to my Rent ignorance,

You see …

Rent is about the 90’s,

Not the 80’s.

And though the 90’s are a decade with which I am well familiar,

I don’t have as much of a total command of useless information about it as I do the 80’s.

So Miss Daisy was kind enough to e-mail me some background info on the play,

Which also included a quiz about which character I am in the play.

My result really doesn’t appear to be flattering in the least,

But I don’t know enough about the play yet to even attempt to rig the results. *shrug* 🙂

Anyways, also included in the material of information …

Was a comment in an article that I couldn’t help but note,

Which said under no circumstances should one miss the beginning of the play,

As that will make it hard to follow anything afterwards.

Now taking that as a subtle hint that I better not be my typcial 15 minutes late (really, just because a particular phrase is boldfaced, circled, underlined and highlighted doesn’t mean that it’s not subtle :)),

I figure I had best go start getting ready …

Right after I hit the mall,

And the McDonald’s drive-thru,

Maybe do some office work for a bit,

Change my mind on what I’m going to wear 15 times,

Try to find my camera,

And watch the Battlestar Galactica dvd Shaft got me for my birthday !! 🙂
