Semi-Annual Check-up

My TS doctor totally rocks. I got hooked up with her by a fluke …. well, actually more because of my impatience in waiting for the doctor everyone else seemed to recommend for the chick tablets …. anywhoose …. I was able to get into see her because she was new to the program and didn’t have the client base (side note …. Caitlin would love her ’cause … well …. she’s English !! And I adore her because she’s concerned, sparky, knowledgable and professional all at the same time.)

Soooo ….. I did the 2 hour each way drive to see her this morning …. for my bright and early 8:00 AM Monday morning appointment ….. ugh.

I went to see her today for my semi-annual check-up ….. I have to see her every 6 months ….. it’s a rule ….. ’cause ya know ….. I’m not capable of making my own decisions on things …… (ahhhh, that’s sarcasm, and actually misdirected sarcasm …. with my physical health doc …. I think regular visits are good ….. it’s the required attendance to see the head doc that can get me going a bit !! :))

She was concerned with the health problems I had last week, so we’ll keep an eye on it ….

My blood tests were good ….. low chloresterol …. good blood pressure …. testosterone nicely in the female range …. estrogen a bit on the high range for females, but good still ….. things went well.

Discussed the psychological and physical effects I’ve noticed since the last check-up ….. psych-wise … really nothing much different …. feels good, feels right, still emotional, but more control over them, mood swings less swingy …. I’m getting the hang of them for the most part …. physical …. body hair has diminished significantly …. breasts have stabilized (welcome to the club, your body took to the estrogen well, just not in your boobs lol) …. and shape has continued to reshape. 🙂

My weight was the same as last time …. bummer …. but I have been scarfing down the phood lately.

She let me slide a bit for not getting my mammogram done as she directed …. laughed actually …. she said it would have been good if I had, but usually with pre-transition t’s, it takes two lectures about it before we actually make the appointment …. that’s why she said she told me last time …. to get the one I avoid out of the way …. now this time she’s serious ! lol

We talked about my transition plans and timetable, ffs, how me and my head doc never really get/got along, and about me maybe switching from the estradiol tabs to the patch

There was one question I meant to ask her but I forgot what it was ….. I still haven’t remembered ….. grrrrrrr. 🙂

And that was about it …. pretty boring …. pretty mundane …. pretty nice.

  1. climara is good–
the other brand of patch doesn’t stay on all week,
    just 2 or 3 days…

    but, yeah, the patch is better;
    i may be misinformed,
but i think the deal is,
there’s a threshold at which breasts respond,
and the patch keeps you there all week,
    where with the pills,
    you cross it every day…
    but i could be wrong…
    i still haven’t had a mammogram
    whoa, wait–
you put thess where and then
    you do what to them?????
    OUCH!!!
