A Year Ago in Amy History

This weekend … a year ago … something happened that happens every year.

It’s happening today.

Last year when it happened, I was oblivious to its occurrence.

A skillful misdirection had been offered me and I readily accepted.

I became aware of the misdirection about 3 weeks later … and,

A few days later …

I made my first entry into the then form of AmyNews.com and committed to make a Decision.

It totally blows me away how much can happen in a single year.

From where I was then … what I was thinking then … what I had hoped for then …

To where I am now … what I’m thinking now … what I hope for now.

Phreaking wild. ๐Ÿ™‚

You know what’s also wild? … How I can remember an innocuous date like today, but totally forget my parent’s anniversary (July 14 Aims !! Remember … July 14). ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. i thought you would recognize it…

the first time i saw it,
    i hated it,
but my son loved it so much,
    he wanted to watch it
    EVERY DAY
    for two weeks…
if ever there was a movie that SHOULD
be seen every day for two weeks…

    it is SO perfectly existential!
and didja notice the underlying similarity
    with Aladin???
    he couldn’t kill anybody,
he couldn’t bring anybody back from the dead,
and he couldn’t make anybody love him…

and it so well illustrates grace
    (the christian concept of forgiveness)
once he knew he was free to do whatever he wanted,
    what he wanted changed…

    when nothing you do matters,
    virtue becomes its own reward,
    and vice its own consequence…

you can tell i’m REALLY tired,
    can’t you?

  2. “‘what if every day of your life was exactly the same, and nothing you did mattered?’
‘That about sums it up for me.'”
