Okay …. I’m just saying WE at the beginning of this, because ….. yes …. I went and watched Star Trek – Nemesis with Shaft instead of dedicating myself solely to holiday shopping ….. Shaft called, he had a free afternoon ….. so we went ….
30 Second Review (read quick !!) ……. Not bad … Better than TOS Star Trek movies, and I enjoyed this one …. gawd …. Capt. Picard beats the crap out of the Enterprises he’s driving (okay, I’m LOL right now because with the use of the words Enterprise and driving … you just know some poor sole is going to Google up my site again when they are looking for Enterprise-Rent-A-Car ….. and if they weren’t before, they will now !!! LOL) …… good special effects ….. typical TNG storyline …… adequate villian, though I was a bit disappointed …. such potential …. but you can never compete with the Borg ….. movie dragged a little at the end, I checked the time once and looked around the theater once …… as usual ….. for me anyways …… I always feel unfulfilled at the end of TNG episodes for the way they get themselves out of whatever bind in which they find themselves …… I always felt they over-relied on technology to get themselves out of a jam …. “oh, wait, I got this magic button on the control panel working, we are saved” …. instead of just usually human brain skills or just beating the crap out of someone ……. this ending was okay ….. though honestly ….. I still prefer the new series Enterprise over TNG ….. Final Tally Definitely matinee-price worthy ….. if you and your date or whoever you are going with are into Star Trek – TNG ….. it’s even worth full price.
Side Note: At one point in the movie, when Data was making a toast, he welcomed “Ladies, Gentlemen and Invited Transgendered Species” ….. I’m laughing just typing it …. I was like, where the heck did that come from …….. hmmmmm ….. I just noticed, take the first letter of each word and it spells “Its” …plural for “It”….. kewl, I’m an It !!
Necessary translations for those who have more of a life than me: TOS refers to Star Trek – The Original Series, that’s the first one …. TNG refers to Star Trek – The Next Generation, that’s the second one …… GAL refers to Star Trek – Get A Life, that’s what I’m going to do now.
