Friday Five for April 18, 2003

Not really a good set of questions for me this week ….. ’cause as we all know …. I really don’t go ga-ga over celebrities,

In fact, I am more likely to go ha-ha.

I suspect it’s probably because I view celebrities as working for me, to entertain me, but not people I admire just because of the job they do.

Seriously, I get so much more excited when I receive a post or e-mail from people like Caitlin, Sianna and Heather …. people who I admire, than I ever get from thinking of or having met a celebrity. An e-mail from a new viewer can easily make my day. And heaven forbid, you should have seen me dancing around when I’ve received e-mail from Kate A. and Andrea.

Celebrities are playing a role, and speaking from the perspective of being someone who has spent a lifetime playing a role ….. it’s no big thang …… I’m no big deal and I don’t think they are either.

Real people, real lives, real experiences ….. whatever the experiences are …. that’s admirable …. and for me, that’s what should be celebrated !

Anywhoooose ……. wanna see my thoughts of “celebrities”? If so …..

Disclaimer: Don’t you just hate sitebeeaaaattchess who are also attorneys and throw up disclaimers everywhere ?? lol ‘ways …. celebrities are defined hereafter as entertainers in the arts, movies, television or sports. Politicians are not entertainers to me …. as much as I’ll mock all of them, they actually have a real job and most try hard to do it.

1. Who is your favorite celebrity?

Tiger Woods ….. I just like him. He can perform his job well, he does it well, he performs superbly underpressure, he swears, he eats normal food, he’s cute and he could get me into the best golf clubs in the world.

Even though Kay Hanley is probably not a “celeb”, she is great, and would be there too …. her and I would be drinking beer out of bottles, soaking in the rays, and laughing with all the rest of my viewers !! 🙂

2. Who is your least favorite?

Barbra Streisand. I don’t like her music, I don’t like her acting and I think she loves herself way toooo much.

3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?

Yes. Several. A job I had for a while put me in such a position. David Cassidy was the coolest, it’s on my 100 Things List (No. 26). Larry King eats seafood in the most animated, messy manner. Katie Couric can look like krap. Rush Limbaugh was sincerely polite. George Thorogood was fun to drink with and paid our beer tab. I’ve met more and seen plenty more …. but I really don’t feel like spending the time thinking ’bout it …. none are really memorable. I’ve got a bit of a ‘tude, don’t I? 😉

4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?

Are you trying to say I’m not ?? Huh ??? ….. lol ….. Well, if it’s for what I consider an acceptable reason, then ….. hell ya !!! Of course !!!! I’m all over that !! 🙂

I have no desire nor interest in being famous because I’m a transsexual. Though I don’t have a problem being famous for a good reason and then the side note that, oh yeah, she survived transsexualism (or however they would say it, I don’t get all worked up about that ….. you can even say I “used to be a man” …. I’ll laugh and agree, then add ….. “and you used to be cute” …. (or “slim”, “funny”, “interesting”, “sober” …. plenty of choices.)

I really need my own late night talk show ….. 30 minutes ….. to replace the late news as a lead-in to Leno or Letterman …. seriously people, we’re overnewsed as it is ….. if your numbers suck at the late news …. take a chance on me !!! 🙂 You’d be syndicating me in mere months !!!

5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?

It would most likely need to be “had to trade places” ….

‘Cause I really don’t have “other people’s life”-envy …. so I don’t ever just think about it.

If I had to …… then it would probably be Faith Hill.

Why ??

Well, so I wouldn’t look much different than I do now (rofl geezuz …. am I the only one laughing ??); and,

I’d have a family – like I’m hoping to have someday; and,

So I could sing without causing people to leave the room !!
