It sucks.<\/p>\n
So in response to this suckness factor …<\/p>\n
As a means of survival,<\/p>\n
I came up with a way to give myself a needed replenishment of …<\/p>\n
Confidence,<\/p>\n
Ego-boosting, and<\/p>\n
Normalness.<\/p>\n
The Amy Night Out.<\/p>\n
A night where I go out solo or with friends who have only known me as Amy-Wan Kenobi.<\/p>\n
You see, sometimes the validation one gets from those unaware of your function is soooo rejuvenating that it’s almost addictive.<\/p>\n
Well … it is addictive.<\/p>\n
And when I go out into the world and interact with people who take me as I appear,<\/p>\n
There is none of that reflection of Joe in their eyes.<\/p>\n
Which is so nice.<\/p>\n
I’m allowed to just be myself,<\/p>\n
Without the baggage of my past.<\/p>\n
Now that’s not saying that I don’t like hanging out with my friends.<\/p>\n
Obviously, I do …<\/p>\n
Almost all of them are the best !! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
It truly means the world to me when I’m able to spend time with my friends.<\/p>\n
But, just as with everytime they see me,<\/p>\n
They are reminded I’m ts.<\/p>\n
Everytime I see them,<\/p>\n
I see the look in their eyes and …<\/p>\n
Am reminded I’m ts.<\/p>\n
And sometimes it’s just nice for all of us not to be reminded of it.<\/p>\n
Usually I do an Amy Night Out in the company of friends in other cities,<\/p>\n
But there have been occasions where I’ve implemented such locally.<\/p>\n
And last night I did.<\/p>\n
Sorta a last minute decisiooooon. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
Now with the exception of a very scary moment at a gas station,<\/p>\n
Which had nothing to do with my function,<\/p>\n
And all to do with being a single female in a less than safe part of the city,<\/p>\n
I had a great time …<\/p>\n
