At least that’s what they were playing during the time we were there.<\/p>\n
I’m not big into 70’s music ….<\/p>\n
Now I love the 80’s, and as has been commented more than once here by some of you … I need to leave the 80’s someday.<\/p>\n
And of course, 90’s and afterwards stuff is great …<\/p>\n
But the 70’s … except for ABBA, I’m just really not into … oh yeah, wait … there’s some Journey, REO Speedwagon and Styx from the late 70’s that I like too.<\/p>\n
Anyways … this particular 70’s band didn’t seem to play any of that.<\/p>\n
She’s a Brick ……..<\/p>\n
House<\/i><\/p>\n
Which was okay … it wasn’t a band I was going to go krazy for … but nothing that I would veto either.<\/p>\n
So anyways … in the midst of their rendition of Sweet Home Alabama <\/i>…<\/p>\n
It happened.<\/p>\n
Gawd … how do they do it?<\/p>\n
Maybe since I never really did it in the old days, I didn’t learn how to make the sleath approach …<\/p>\n
But one minute no one is there …<\/p>\n
And the next …<\/p>\n
POOF !!!<\/p>\n
“Would you like to dance?<\/i>”<\/p>\n
Hmmmm …<\/p>\n
Now seriously, I was flattered.<\/p>\n
First … because between Ex and me, I was this guy’s first choice … which NEVER happens to me when I’m in the presence of Singer … yeah, yeah … I know, it only happened this time because it was clearly obvious that I was the third wheel and Ex and Morrie were all about each other … but hey, a girl’s gotta take her victories where she can find them !! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
And Second … he was kinda kute … not too cute as to be all into himself, but he had this really fun smile when he asked me to dance … and I liked how he pretended to be dancing when he asked me.<\/p>\n
So under normal circumstances … I would have definitely accepted,<\/p>\n
Because …<\/p>\n
Well, I just usually say yes …<\/p>\n
When it comes to dancing !! \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n
But … though I was moving a little bit in my chair, it was Sweet Home Alabama<\/i> … which really didn’t excite me … and having given up chewing tobacco years ago … I wasn’t quite sure I’d fit in on the dance floor.<\/p>\n
Plus, I had My Hobbits there.<\/p>\n
Processing all of that in a mere .0054 seconds, I made a decision.<\/p>\n
I smiled sweetly … added a dash of the coy slight head tilt while grooving my lips into momentary pout leading into a “No, but thank you for asking<\/i>” response. Heavy smile at the end with a bit of a head bob while looking up at him.<\/p>\n
Hmmm … he really did have a nice smile.<\/p>\n
“Oh, come on, you’re telling me you don’t dance?<\/i>”<\/p>\n
Damn … bastard is smart with the bar lines … he’s boxing me out … if I say “yes, I do<\/i>“, he’ll use that to reengage his attempts to get me out there … if I say “no, I don’t<\/i>“, not only am I clearly a liar – I mean, seriously, someone like me obviously dances \ud83d\ude09 … but, I’m boxed out for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, let’s not forget … I’ve got a guy asking me to dance while I’m sitting in a bar with my ex-wife and her fiance’ … who just happens to be one of my life long friends … too phreaking weird !!!<\/p>\n
Anyways … I declined the suggestioooon again … so he turned his attention to Ex, trying to talk her into going out there with him … and not looking back at me once … so sad … all he had to do was ask me one more time.<\/p>\n
Eventually he left …<\/p>\n
And after a few minutes My Hobbits started talking amongst themselves … laughing … as they discussed what had just transpired.<\/p>\n
Yeah … it was amusing. They hadn’t seen Bar Amy before.<\/p>\n
Oh well.<\/p>\n
And as we were leaving, I attracted the attention of another bar soul … as he found my “bright pink scarf” an opportune conversatiooooon starter.<\/p>\n
Which further amused Ex.<\/p>\n
Anyways … it was a fun end to the work week.<\/p>\n
Totally comfortable, me just being me … and hanging out with some kewl people.<\/p>\n
