Play nice !<\/em><\/p>\n Dammit. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n And by that,<\/p>\n I mean play nice with each other.<\/p>\n When I post something,<\/p>\n And someone comments in response …<\/p>\n Maybe disagreeing with me,<\/p>\n Or suggesting I’m wrong …<\/p>\n I don’t mind at all.<\/p>\n Heck,<\/p>\n There’s a good chance I am wrong. <\/p>\n And when others post a comment in response to one of my posts,<\/p>\n And you feel like posting a comment in response …<\/p>\n Disagreeing with them,<\/p>\n Or suggesting they may possibly be wrong …<\/p>\n That’s fine too.<\/p>\n The exchange of opinions,<\/p>\n Thoughts,<\/p>\n Is how we collectively as a whole …<\/p>\n Become smarter.<\/p>\n So I encourage that.<\/p>\n However,<\/p>\n Exchanging opinions, thoughts, rationales, evidence, support, blah, blah, blah …<\/p>\n Does not mean personally attacking a person, or …<\/p>\n Saying mean things to or about a person.<\/p>\n So don’t phreaking do it here !! \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/p>\n The Golden Rule makes sense,<\/p>\n Follow it.<\/p>\n Treat my viewers with the same respect you would like to receive.<\/p>\n And if you don’t want to receive any respect,<\/p>\n Then treat my viewers with respect anyways,<\/p>\n Because you’ll still be treated with respect.<\/p>\n Comprende? <\/p>\n Good. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n However,<\/p>\n Should you so choose to violate that simple rule …<\/p>\n And it comes to my attentiooooon,<\/p>\n What I do in response is entirely in my discretion,<\/p>\n ‘Cause it is my website and all. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n But most likely I’ll pull your comment,<\/p>\n Inform you that parts of it or all of it is more of a personal attack than anything else,<\/p>\n (If I don’t have your e-mail address, I’ll post a comment where your comment used to be asking you to e-mail me to discuss it)<\/p>\n Ask you to rephrase it or allow me to edit it out,<\/p>\n And if you agree in a manner I deem acceptable to either,<\/p>\n I’ll repost it after the change has been made.<\/p>\n Though if you refuse to do either,<\/p>\n It’s no skin off my back …<\/p>\n I just probably won’t repost it.<\/p>\n Now understand …<\/p>\n Usually I do this entirely on my own,<\/p>\n In years past,<\/p>\n I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone say to me …<\/p>\n "So and so is saying mean things about me<\/em>" on my website.<\/p>\n If I read something that I consider a mean-spirited personal attack …<\/p>\n I take things up on my own initiative.<\/p>\n But remember …<\/p>\n Mean-spirited is the key qualifier here.<\/p>\n Humorous, light-hearted, playful personal attacks are allowed !! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Let’s see … <\/p>\n What else?<\/p>\n Oh yeah,<\/p>\n Most of that stuff applies to just each other … viewer to viewer.<\/p>\n I understand that by putting myself out here on the web …<\/p>\n I’m completely exposing myself to all sorts of mean-spirited nonsense butts can come up with from time to time.<\/p>\n Though really,<\/p>\n I am a nice person …<\/p>\n So please think twice before doing something mean to me,<\/p>\n Because you know I wouldn’t do something mean to you.<\/p>\n And I guess finally …<\/p>\n Even though my life is pretty much an open book to you viewers,<\/p>\n I do try to maintain some privacy on some things …<\/p>\n For myself,<\/p>\n And others.<\/p>\n So if someone, usually accidentally, reveals something in a comment that puts what elements of privacy I can maintain for others at risk …<\/p>\n I’ll usually react to that pretty promptly,<\/p>\n Remove the overinformatiooooon,<\/p>\n And let the viewer know what I did and why.<\/p>\n
