You ask. <\/p>\n<p>I mean, it&#8217;s not like you, dear Amy,<\/p>\n<p>Use a phake name or anything. <\/p>\n<p>Why should we?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Well, because &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Of search engines.<\/p>\n<p>You see,<\/p>\n<p>If you put your name on my <a href=\"http:\/\/amynews.com\/\">website<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And at some point in the future someone types your name into a search engine, <\/p>\n<p>Like Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, <\/p>\n<p>To see if there is anything about you they might be able to find out &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>To say about you,<\/p>\n<p>Before they date you, or &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Marry you,<\/p>\n<p>Your name will pop up.<\/p>\n<p>Which isn&#8217;t necessarily a bad thing,<\/p>\n<p><em>However<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p>I do make reference to My Function here on occasion,<\/p>\n<p>And your name&#8217;s association with My Function, <\/p>\n<p>Might not be something you want to have out there for others to find. <\/p>\n<p>And then &#8230; <\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll ask me to do something about it,<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ll try,<\/p>\n<p>Because despite rumors to the contrary,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really a nice person.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>But,<\/p>\n<p>Honest to gawd,<\/p>\n<p>It can be a <em>serious<\/em> pain in the ass for me to do with the set-up I have.<\/p>\n<p>It also dorks up other things for me I have set as far as the bot crawlers go.<\/p>\n<p>And regardless,<\/p>\n<p>I know I&#8217;ll never be able to do it as quickly as you&#8217;d like.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just easier to give yourself a nickname whenever posting a comment on my site. <\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Cause ya see,<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t validate in even a remote, simple formatting way &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Names or e-mail addresses asked for you to provide on the comment form that pops up when if you decide to post a comment.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning, <\/p>\n<p>Where it asks for your name in the comment form &#8230; <\/p>\n<p>Feel free to use a phake one ! <\/p>\n<p>Something funny preferably, <\/p>\n<p>But phake nonetheless. <\/p>\n<p>And where it asks for your e-mail address in the comment form &#8230; <\/p>\n<p>Same thang &#8230; <\/p>\n<p>Feel free to use a phake one ! <\/p>\n<p>Something funny preferably, <\/p>\n<p>But phake nonetheless. <\/p>\n<p>Deja Vu.<\/p>\n<p>Deja Vu.<\/p>\n<p>Dig?<\/p>\n<p>But what if you want me to actually have your e-mail address so we can communicate? <\/p>\n<p>Well then, just <a href=\"mailto:amy@amynews.com\">e-mail me<\/a> !!! \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m notoriously slow at responding to e-mails, <\/p>\n<p>But I will respond eventually. <\/p>\n<p>AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, <\/p>\n<p>Your e-mail address, and name if you so choose to include it, will not be something shared to all who visit my site ! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <\/p>\n<p>If you are comfortable using your real name and real e-mail address, go for it. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m kewl with that too !! <\/p>\n<p>I just wanted to warn ya !! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please, please, please Think twice, three times, And then maybe four times &#8230; Before using your real name anywhere on my site.
