Other than to amuse me.<\/p>\n
Because once the information is passed along,<\/p>\n
It’s not like it can be retracted.<\/p>\n
And if I’ve chosen to share information …<\/p>\n
I’ve also chosen to accept the risk that it will be passed along.<\/p>\n

I used to play the coding game fairly frequently when providing my name and address to people I suspected would resell it,<\/p>\n
Spelling my name slightly differently,<\/p>\n
With different initials,<\/p>\n
Middle name,<\/p>\n
Spelling,<\/p>\n
Things like that.<\/p>\n
It got to a point where I could tell rather quickly …<\/p>\n
Who sold me out causing me to get the junkmail currently filling my mailbox.<\/p>\n
Sometimes with talking with people …<\/p>\n
When trying to ascertain the truth about something,<\/p>\n
I consciously do the same thing …<\/p>\n
Include or exclude ancillary information that might assist in determining what I seek to determine down the road.<\/p>\n
And sometimes,<\/p>\n
I either subconsciously or accidentally do the same thing …<\/p>\n
And subsequently make a mental note of minor variations in the information I disclosed to people,<\/p>\n
Even though I have no intention of evaluating their word of confidence.<\/p>\n
News of Me ver 2.0<\/i> seems to be disseminating along the gossip highway at a greater pace these days,<\/p>\n
Twice this past week I got unexpected feedback from people who hadn’t heard the scoop first or second-hand.<\/p>\n
The first time I was told what was known about me …<\/p>\n
It rattled me.<\/p>\n
Not that they knew,<\/p>\n
I’m glad they did.<\/p>\n
No,<\/p>\n
What rattled me was who they heard it from …<\/p>\n
A judge,<\/p>\n
And what<\/i> they knew,<\/p>\n
‘Cause that told me how the information got there,<\/p>\n
Which surprised me.<\/p>\n
The second feedback I received didn’t rattle me at all …<\/p>\n
Just confirmed something I already suspected,<\/p>\n
But now knew …<\/p>\n
For certain.<\/p>\n
It really doesn’t bother me at all that the information is being spread …<\/p>\n
Well,<\/p>\n
I guess is bothers me a bit that I’m being talked about,<\/p>\n
But I expect it.<\/p>\n
If it was happening to someone else,<\/p>\n
I’d be talking about it.<\/p>\n
And as long as at some point they say something along the lines of …<\/p>\n
