Wedding Tunage

I really don’t hold out much hope for ever getting married.

Seriously,

I’ve been blessed and fortunate in so many ways …

A guy finding me wife-worthy is really asking for just a little too much.

Not to mention,

Asking for a guy who finds me wife-worthy to be someone I likewise find husband-worthy …

Well,

Get outta here.

So,

Since the need for such a playlist is unlikely to present itself,

I figured I’d just share with you now my wedding song.

It’d be …

None other than:

Follow You, Follow Me by Genesis.

I absolutely love that song,

When it comes to weddings,

That is.

Not to mention,

If I ever did get married,

It would be very applicable.

My plan would be …

That during the vows,

I’d have an instrumental version of it playing softly in the background.

(They can do trash-krap like that in Vegas chapels, ya know ! 🙂 )

And,

Of course,

It would also be our First Dance song.

As far as my choice for song played during the traditional Bride Dancing On The Tables moment?

Photograph by Def Leppard.

Obviously.

I mean,

I’ve got practice with that one !!! 🙂

  1. Lol, I like that one, very good!
Yes, I’ve always sung whatever I liked and never been picked up for it. I’ve also been in a singer in a few bands in the past.
    Remember those classics-
    Reverend in Blue Jeans.
    Hungry Mice (Dirty dancing).
Bald headed woman (More than a woman).
You picked a fine time to leave me, loose heel.
We built this City on the wrong damn road.

I could go on but I have to get back to work.
Oh, I’ve just found this site- http://funny2.com/lyrics.htm
Cool, even got a coulpe of mine.

Yes, I’m recovering nicely thanks. Pain is now officially part of my way of life!!!

  2. Hope the recovery is coming along nicely !!! 🙂

Aren’t misunderstood lyrics the best ??? One of my favorites was one some of my college friends convinced this foreign exchange student on the hall were the words to a classic Stones song, instead of “I’ll never be, your beast of burden“, he went around singing “never leave, your pizza burnin’“.

  3. Hey, “Follow you, follow me”- that’s my favorite song! Mind you, when I was little, I never was any good with lyrics. For example:
“All my Fiats go drifting by me so slowly now”. Make sure you leave your car in “Park” mode, I suppose.
I mean, what was I thinking? It’s the same as that oldie’s classic “I saw a tree in motion” or was it “Poetry in motion”? I never could remember!

Sorry the post is so late in the day, I’ve been recovering!!!

  4. I abandoned all expectation of marriage for umpty-squat years. But, when you least expect it…. Pow!

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition…. No wait, that’s something else. Nevermind.

  5. “exhausting, a handful, and a bit sarcastic at times”??? …hmmm….sounds a lot like my first AND my second wife…so, I’m not sure what to take from that…either…it means you’re exactly what should be considered “good wife material” or, since neither of those marriages worked out…you’re NOT…

…I’d be more inclined to believe that I’m the reason those failed and that you ARE good wife material…

all that aside, Amy-wan…I think that, someday…if it’s what you want for yourself…you’ll be a terrific wife for some very lucky guy!

  6. Well Aims … I think you got a good point there. I am definately not the type to sit at home waiting for her husband to arrive while prepping dinner. I’ve got my own life and my own things, so the perfect boyfriend would be a guy who could understand that.

  7. LOL Yeah … I’m not really itching to be married by any means, it was just something that popped in my noggin’ when I heard the song.

Besides, I think it’s still open for discussion if I’m even good wife material … there is a faction in society that believes I’m exhausting, a handful, and a bit too sarcastic at times. Bastards !! 🙂

On the other hand, I do think I am excellent girlfriend material !! Okay, you can stop laughing now !!! :))

  8. Why would you want to get married, not me! A boyfriend is nice but that’s about as far as need it to go (at this moment in time and space).

  9. Interesting subject Amy and it is one that I’ve actually daydreamed about a few times. I only have two songs for my wedding play list both of which would be sung by and Elvis impersonator. “Love Will Keep Us Together” by the Captain and Tennille and Springsteen’s “Born To Run” (which would be played at the end of the ceremony). Since the chances of me actually finding a nice guy and getting married lie somewhere between a snowballs chance in hell and the Cubs winning the World Series, I would hope that Bruce, The Captain and Tennille aren’t spending that royalty money yet.
On the other hand, Amy, you are a vibrant, outgoing and fun gal who bowls. I’d bet that you will be using your wedding song play list one of these days. I am surprised that you didn’t choose and Abba song though.
