An Evening With Hottie

Now, let’s forget for a few moments this whole crush thing I have for Hottie, aka The Almighty One …

And let’s just look at him from an incredibly good friend point of view,

… an incredibly good looking, fit, intelligent, funny, kind, good friend point of view. πŸ™‚

So … last Wednesday was St. Patrick’s Day.

The busiest drinking night of the year.

Woo hoo !! πŸ™‚

And The UnUsual Suspects were bowling …

So one would think we would be going above and beyond the call of duty when it came to the alcohol consumption.

But alas …

That’s usually not the case.

For on those recognized days of heavy drinking: St. Patrick’s Day, The Night before Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve

Well, those are deemed Amateur Nights,

When individuals who do not normally drink,

Drink and hit the road.

And in those cases, you want to make sure you’re either off the road,

Or very, very sober when you’re driving (lots of cops on the road.)

So … since we don’t do Amateur Night,

We consumed fairly moderate quantities of alcohol throughout the evening,

While missing Sister who was on the Hawaiian island of Kauai vacationing with her family.

As soon as bowling concluded, Miss Daisy hit the road to begin his long drive back to BFE.

Singer, Hottie, me and a few of Singer’s other friends went into the bar for a some drinks,

But before long …

All that was left was Hottie, me and two of our friends on the one team in the league that likes us (two older women, one is the mom of a friend of Hottie and Singer, they are a blast !)

Anyways … they soon left too,

And before 11:00 p.m.

All that was remaining was Hottie and me.

Now, like Singer, Hottie knows a lot of people … all over the place.

And there were bound to be some of his peeps out and about, where he could meet up with so early in the evening.

But instead of hitting the road to join up with them,

He hung out with me until we closed the bar down.

And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect,

As I so needed to comfortably just hang out.

What an amazing nice, kind and appreciated gesture !!

Now, you see …

As far as how he’s interacted with me in handling my issue,

Hottie has performed in a very big brotherly sort of way.

We don’t really talk about it a lot,

He monitors my mood here at AmyNews.com,

Makes me laugh when he senses I need a laugh,

Defends me when I need protection,

And each week at some point,

He looks me in the eye and asks me how I’m doing.

Now you know how sometimes when people ask you how you’re doing,

You can tell they really just want you to say “okay” and move on with it?

And how other times they are sincerely concerned and interested when they ask that question?

It’s always been the latter when Hottie’s asked me the question.

And it’s just such a comforting feeling when someone looks you in the eye, asks you that question and you can tell they want to know the honest to goodness truth.

Now when I’m doing good, I tell him that, and that’s pretty much it.

But when I’m not doing good, I’ll tell him I’m struggling or something, and he’ll listen and talk things through with me.

Anyways, I’ve been doing really good for the past few weeks, and I told him such.

So we comfortably and promptly moved on to other topics,

Spent the next few hours nursing a couple of Coors Light,

While Hottie did a set of all my favorites from his karaoke collection:

Mustang Sally (Actually, this was a new one of his … I think we’ll pass.)
Drift Away (He does it better than Dobie Gray or Uncle Kracker !)
Hold My Hand (This was his first karaoke “hit” !)
Brown Eyed Girl (An all time “classic” of his. Ever the entertainer, he covers the entire spectrum of eye colors during his rendition !)
Crocodile Rock (A newer song in his set and a blast to dance to while he sings.)
Aime (Wasn’t that nice?)
Brandy (My personal, all-time favorite Hottie song.)

Now, by the time we got to Brown Eyed Girl … all that remained in the bar was Hottie, me, two gay guys who came to hang out with the two lesbians running the karaoke machine. Gawd, Hottie had to feel outnumbered !! lol

We don’t know the two guys that well, but we all certainly recognized each other as regulars and the two girls running the karaoke machine love us … either because we’re regulars or because we were the only two left in the bar. πŸ™‚

Anyways, lately, it’s become much more challenging suppressing my natural Amyness when out and about, even when I’m pretending to be boy.

So in light of the crowd …

I was totally comfortable chick dancing to the last four of Hottie’s tunes.

And got into it more than normal during my renditions of I Think I Love You, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, All The Small Things and It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me.

Whew ! πŸ™‚

I had an incredibly great time !!!

The Attention,

The Time,

The Laughs,

The Casualness,

Was just so nice to experience. πŸ™‚

Super thanks to Hottie for making me feel normal for a night,

And super thanks to Baby Spice for letting me borrow him a few hours ! πŸ™‚

Seriously, am I the luckiest t-chica around or what?

I’ve got a Shaft and a Hottie !

(not to mention a (Miss) Daisy, a Spud(dy), a Tenant, a Tiger, a Baked Apple, a ……)

  1. Well, true Hottie … you are one of the two “Starsky and Hutch” boys at AmyNews.com … and that does pair you with Shaft … just remember though, for the luv of gawd, never let Shaft drive !!!

And don’t forget this … you are looking stellar in the title role with Charlie’s Angels at AmyNews.com …

    Charlie – played by Hottie
Bosley – played by Miss Daisy
    Sabrina – played by Sister
    Kelly – played by Singer
    Jill – played by Amy-wan

(Just for the record Viewers, it’s actually been an issue of discussion among The UnUsual Suspects … which one of us would be stuck being Sabrina … it was really down to Sister and me, as Singer is perfect as Kelly. Neither of us wanted to be Sabrina, ’cause face it … though the most intellectually capable of the trio, she was not on the same beauty chart … anyways, I maintained I should be Jill because I am the only blonde … however, Sister had a retort and I don’t remember how things were resolved, though since it’s my website … I’m making the final casting call. πŸ™‚

  2. Hey Singer,

I think the person who was “sad to see you rush off/hurry up & go” was our bartendress…The Happy Hairdo. Just an observation…..

  3. What are you saying…Mustang Sally sucked??? “Hey Vonnegut…you read lips?? Phuck You!!” (Dangerfield/Back to School reference)…without using any “F’s”. :-)Seriously A, I’m glad you had a good time hangin with a true Irishman on St. Paddy’s day. PS – 3 things: (a)Yes, I have a number of good friends I could hang out with…you being one of them, (2)By the way, I had fun too, & (e) I’m not sure I feel great about being part of the Starsky & Hutch of amynews.com…”Hottie & Shaft”?

  4. LOL I don’t think so !! πŸ˜› You are our fearless leader and we do wander around aimlessly in your absence. But every since you became Bowling League President-elect … you just don’t have any time for us common bowlers anymore !! πŸ™‚

Though on the other hand …

    Miss Daisy-Missing
    Sister-Missing
    Singer-Missing

Hmmmmmm, maybe Hottie just failed to execute the clean getaway that you and the others managed ?? LOL πŸ™‚

  5. Oh, so when you said you were sad that I had to “RUSH” off……you were really thinking..”Hurry up and go already”?
