Clean Up on Aisle Five

For the most part … I like strangers. 🙂

It’s so nice to hear the “Happy Holidays Ma’am” from the store greeter,

Or the “Thank you dear” from the older lady who I assist in her quest to find fried onions ,

Or the following of the eyes from the guy walking past me with his significant other right next to him,

Or the complete lack of attention from the hundreds of others that pass by me without noticing or taking a second glance.

I take hits to my confidence every now and then …

And I’ve felt that way recently.

So as I walked the aisles of the grocery store last night, there was a sense of complete amazement, that there I was, just being me, blending in, with no one noticing me.

The kindness of strangers is such a nice feeling …

Even when the strangers have no clue they are being kind. 🙂

  1. Yay !!! Very good Yodette !!

You named that quote for the theme of this post !! 🙂

The answer is Blanche DuBois from A Streetcar Named Desire.

Though I really liked Deborah Foreman’s delivery of the line in her role as Casey Meadows in the movie My Chauffeur. 🙂

  2. Amy, you’ve hit it right on the money. Sometimes when I’m feeling a bit low, I’ll go out browsing just to feel the glow of strangers’ unknown kindness.
