A Dash of Oddness

Yeah … we all know … my life is just wrought with moments of weirdness,

Simply odd, strange, amusing things that just seem to find themselves hanging out in the same places I frequent.

No, no, no … I’m not talking about this whole “sex change” thing, that’s so yesterday’s news …

And no … I’m not talking about the strangeness life brought when over the weekend we found Singer asking to borrow an evening bag from me … that, well … that’s nothing …

Naw … today, we’re talking the oddness I experienced hanging out with Ex and Morrie yesterday afternoon. Ya see, as a refresher, Ex, well, she’s my ex-wife. And Morrie, well, he’s been one of my closet friends since high school. And now … they are an item.

So there’s me, meeting up with Ex and Morrie, the happy couple that they are … sorta freaky odd. We saw a movie, Elf, which I’ll review later. Then we went back to their place … just to talk and gab.

And surprisingly, though it was a bit strange seeing them in descrete, couple mode … it was not as strange as I thought it’d be. I think the world of both of them and it makes me really happy to see both of them happy. And they really do jive well … totally on the same wavelength thing.

Anyways,

We talked a lot … both of them looked at my face in detail, noticing the changes made from my surgery. They both asked some great questions, and things were openly discussed.

Which was good … and long overdue. I think it helped all of us … and was sort of a transition point.

But now … the big questiooon appears … say their relationship progresses and they get married …

Can I be both the Maid of Honor and the Best Man at their wedding? 🙂

  1. Ah, but you’d look “cute” in a long dress with big poofy sleeves and a bow in back! I did and caught the bouquet – fat lot of good.

I saved the shoes dyed to match the dress. At least the shoes still fit. [sigh]

  2. It will be a mighty cold day in you know were before I wear a dress with big puffy sleeves and a bow in the back … fuscia on the other hand … works on me !! *snicker*

  3. The purpose of a bridesmaid dress is to make sure the bride looks better than any of the women around her … and personally, I have an issue with that !! 🙂

I know, Shaft said the same, but Morrie asked me if it was okay before he ever talked to her … and I said yes … ’cause as weird as it is … they really match up well !! And besides, now I can hang out with two friends in one visit !! 🙂

  4. What? You don’t WANT ot wear a bridesmaid dress? Especially the fuscia ones with the big puffy sleeves and bow in the back..LOL Makenna

  5. What’s wrong with wearing a bridesmaid’s dress? I’ve got one hanging in my closet since about 1977 as a keepsake from my stint as Maid of Honor at my best friend’s wedding.

Speaking of closets: “…he’s been one of my closet friends since high school”?

If he’s one of your “closet friends”, what’s he doing hooking up with your ex? 🙂

  6. Well … here’s my take on it … I’ve heard of girls being the Best Man before … so I think I could do both roles … and would think it a blast … not to mention … I’m hoping never to actually have to wear a bridesmaid dress.

  7. How the hell do you think you could ever be BEST Man? Sheesh! You’re a girl, you dimwit!

but, hey…if you want to crossdress as a man and see if you can get away with it…

How kewl to be hanging out with them. Weird for you AND them I’m sure. Very Twilight Zone kind of stuff.
