Post Day 7 – One Week

PostDay0A.jpg PostDay7.jpg

It’s hard to believe … that one week after surgery … I was out and about … driving my car … watching my nephew’s football game … roaming the mall … going to the office … hitting Blockbuster … and getting take-out.

But that’s what I did today.

Granted … I moved kinda slow … and didn’t last my nephew’s entire game …

But I needed to start getting out and about,

And I did ! 🙂

I’ve got work responsibilities this week, so I wanted to know I would be capable of some movement and extended activity. I was exhausted by the end of the day, but not so that I couldn’t make it through the day. And I lasted the entire time without any Vicodin. Go Rush !! *eyeroll*

The bruising on my face is subsiding, but I still have a fair amount around both eyes, left eye more so than right. And there’s just the general light bruising that gravity has seemed to cause settle in my cheeks and around my mouth. So I picked up some Dermablend to try and cover the bruises … though I’m not sure that I will end up using it. They seem to be subsiding rather quickly at this point. I might not need anything by Monday.

The headaches weren’t as bad today, though as mentioned, I felt extremely tired by the end of the day. My eyes seemed to dry out a little quicker than the norm of recent and I still have no appetite. As of yesterday morning though, I’ve only lost 8 lbs since surgery.

But there is swelling. Definitely swelling. It’s down considerably from before, but since the removal of my splint, my nose has swollen back up and my forehead is still really, super swollen. I can press my finger into my forehead and upon removal, an impression of it remains. It’s only a guess, but I’d say a couple of mm’s of swelling across the forehead, my nose more than that, and my checks have some too.

Daily routine-wise … I’m still doing the nasal cleaning thing. But it only works so far. I can tell there are some boogers in there, but they are stubborn, I can’t get them out with the cleaning processing, by blowing my nose or even trying to dig them out with tweezers. I also h2o2 the incision on my forehead, cleaning it and the moisturizing it with Neosporin a few times a day. I lotion the daylights out of myself too, but that’s nothing new. 🙂 My belly gets a little extra treatment since I’m still wearing the compression garment … I baby powder it and then again go heavy on the lotion there. I also do my massage routine across my forehead, eyes, nose and lips. Daily time commitment to doing all of it … probably less than 45 minutes.

We’re going to return to our regularly scheduled programming, as there will be fewer “Post” updates since not much is changing. I will continue to add some post pictures as I want you to get used to how I look before I show the ugh Before pictures for comparison purposes. I’ll also try to give a summary of my whole Dr. Z experience. But other than that … FFS – Check … it’s time to return to the regular drama and amusement in my life !! I’ve got so much to tell you !! 🙂
