As tough as it is, remember that there is genuine love for you mixed in with her struggle to cope. If she didn’t love you, she wouldn’t care. I still think your mom is just on a flatter acceptance curve. Set your goals and dates and stick with them. She will adapt.

so a lot of people think that’s what you do

but when you’re finally free to do
