What’s Your Shaft Like?

Mine is short and stubby … thick.

No, I’m not going to take it any further than that … but I could have fun with it …

Of course I’m talking about Shaft … My Shaft … of Ask Shaft! fame … my own personal Han Solo …

He always says I can never give him an unqualified compliment … that I always have to include with it a sarcastic, often humorous, totally true observation … and he’s right … I do that with practically everyone … but especially with him … there has to be a reason …

But I’m not going to do that here … today …

Just a straight up acknowledgment that Shaft rocks …

Latest example …

I was phunking for a while there, the magnitude of this whole transition thing and it’s impact on others dear to me started weighing on me heavily (amazingly I’ve never considered changing to an Option 3, which I thought was kinda cool) but it, was still beating me up.

Combine that with a summer break where I’m seeing none of my friends and I was bumming.

Shaft and family are expecting another child soon, so Satan’s been riding his butt to get things done — we haven’t golfed, haven’t movied, haven’t just hung out goofing off on a Saturday;

Singer simply doesn’t have time for anyone, with two children under two, I’m not sure how she’s pulling off what she’s doing now — she’s simply amazing, but that leaves her with no time for anything other than her children and family;

A few of my close friends from the on-line world were actually out and about having lives !!! 🙂 Beeaaaatttches !! 😛 lol

So that said …

I was feeling very, very lonely. Sorta finalized my decisioooon to move actually.

Oh sure, Mom, Dad, Bro and Ex were there keeping an eye on me, but sometimes you need your other support group … and my other support group is critical to me …

Actually …

Shaft and Singer have been critical for me …

Singer has been a such a critical friend for me, always knowing what to say and somehow finding a few moments to pass it along.

And Shaft … well, when I don’t have him around, let’s face it … I’m kinda lost … when he’s on vacation or out of town … and he’s outta the office, even though others are there … it’s not right, I don’t like it at all … plus, he knows absolutely everything about me … total, complete disclosure … so he’s my safety zone … where I can go to and disclose everything and know his advice and thoughts are based on complete information, not like I do with others … and his advice … really good stuff … he’s perceptive and practical, he really should be doing that for a living …

Now with every one of my friends … I totally understand why we’ve been unable to do practically anything … they all have lives, moving forward, and doing much more important stuff than talking/hanging out/e-mailing/chatting with me …. I totally agree with that …

And it’s not in my nature to ask for attention (I do that solely at my website !! 🙂 ) or help …

I tend to suffer silently …

So I didn’t say anything.

Except here on my website …

I can’t remember if I mentioned it bluntly or subtly, and heaven forbid that I actually re-read any of this stuff … probably bluntly though 🙂 …

Anyways …

The big guy picked up on it …

And the last two weeks …

He’s squeezed in a few phones calls over the weekend, during the weeknights … just to shoot the breeze ! 🙂
