New Feature !
Oh my gawd !!! I’m sooo excited !!
And I think … you will be even more so !! 🙂
Why ?? Because …
We’re adding a new feature here at AmyNews.com (*shaking head*) …
By popular demand,
Well, not sure it’s really by popular demand (mainly because Sianna suggested it, but I think she has a crush on him) …
Shaft is going to have a weekly column !! Seriously … no kidding ! (How many other T-girls are dorks enough to rope their friends into doing weekly columns on their sites ?? lol)
It’s going to be called: Ask Shaft!
And you can ask him anything …
How to build a deck? His favorite after meal meal? The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Has he ever looked down my top? The choices for names of soon to be born Baby Shaft? His true weight? What really happened in Mexico? Why he has no ass? (Look !!) The only limits are you … and if no one asks him any questions … he’s promised to annoy you with his Shaft Trivia.
His column will be published every Tuesday and his first column will be July 8, 2003. (Sorry about publishing it on Tuesday. I know Monday is a high ratings day, and I try to make things easy for my viewers, but in order to publish on Monday, Shaft would have to come into the office and finish his column over the weekend … and trust me … Shaft working on the weekend … just ain’t gonna happen !! 🙂 ) …
So … get those thinking caps working … and e-mail your questions to [email protected].

I think the legend is a little more developed than the answer from site above. Apparently, the owner of the Rangers back in the 20’s thought the “H” on the Montrial sweater stood for Habitants, because he was told the players were area farmers, or “les habitants.” The nickname stuck.
Yo Debs … happens to me all the time on here … I use the “greater than” and “less than” signs and it thinks it’s html … some of my funniest lines never got posted … well … okay, so they weren’t really funny … but they made me laugh !
it was supposed to say: ballet in blood *snicker*
ummm….Habs is short for les Habitants…..I think? that’s not really an origin, tho, is it? will…..not……google……
ballet in blood
Actually, I would have said, “The home of the Habs, otherwise known as the Canadiens, eh.” Bonus points for the origin of the nickname. Anyone? Remember, it’s more than a sport, it’s ballet with blood.
hehe This could be way too much fun … Shaft left last night for the U.P. so he can’t defend himself … but knowing him, he’d ask it in Bob and Doug McKenzie fashion … “Hey hoser, do you know what Muntreaaal is, eh? … said with a smirk of confusion.
just a question….does shaft (in character, of course) pronounce “montreal” with trebek’s infamous faux french canadian accent?? (what is “moan – trray – ahhl”) and don’t forget to add a slight smirk of superiority! too funny, y’all
“totally seperate website management approaches”
STACY glances nervously toward window
EMILY
Relax, Stace! (beat)
It’s just my website

STACY (relief in her voice)
Oh, yeah. (beat) I had
forgotten that it’s
totally seperate.
SHAWNA (os)
That proves it!
EMILY
How do you expect

if you lock out all
the comic relief?
STACY
Hey, Shaft, can you
do a good Alex
Trebek imitation?
SHAFT (os)
Oh, I’m sorry Stacy,
the correct question
