What Do I Believe ?

This was really a pretty interesting quiz … I always wondered where I’d fall in something like this (scammed from Caitlin who snorked it from Mizzy.)

According to the Belief-O-Matic … the top score on the list below represents the faith that most closely matches my beliefs. The following 26 faiths are in order of how much they have in common with my professed beliefs.

For what it’s worth, I was brought up in the faith showing up as No. 16, but currently subscribe to the ways of The Force. šŸ˜‰

1. Mahayana Buddhism (100%)
2. New Age (96%)
3. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (93%)
4. Unitarian Universalism (90%)
5. Hinduism (89%)
6. Neo-Pagan (88%)
7. New Thought (88%)
8. Theravada Buddhism (87%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (80%)
10. Bah

  1. Hehe … Thanks … I got it at Kohl’s … clearance rack ! Buttons up the back instead of zipper … which is why I think it was on the clearance rack !! Oh well !! šŸ™‚

  2. the guy-friend i’ve know since high school
said that his core beliefs haven’t changed,
whereas mine have been all over…

    so i didn’t get snide–
    didn’t say anything like,
“Well, maybe you’re too narrow-minded to accept
that the idea that there’s anything you don’t already know!”

    Nor did i say,
“Perhaps that’s because your core beliefs
    are naive and simplistic.”

I just sort of began to say that
    when one’s knowledge expands
    and one’s understanding deepens,
    one’s beliefs could change.
    As a for instance,
i said that i now believe
    in the immaculate conception.
His response made it clear that he has no clue
    that the immaculate conception
    and the virgin birth
    are two different things.
    I tried to explain that,
    but he stopped me;
    said that he didn’t care,
reminded me that he’s never imposed
    his beliefs on me…

    so…

    am i dumptruck?
you don’t have to believe something
just to understand what it means to someone else,
    do you?

    i mean,
    if i told him i couldn’t wear
    these shoes
    with that dress,
    would he say,
“I’ve never tried to impose my clothes on you!”
    ???
