Today’s topic ….. Face Surgery. What the ???? Where does that come from ??? lol I know, I know, I haven’t talked too much about some of my plans if I select Choice A. But, I do have plans. Passability (is that a word?) is critically important for me. And following the Andrea James’ thought process, facial feminization surgery is one of my top three items to address (for those who are wondering, some, including me, think the Holy Trinity of TS transition is Electrolysis (I have over 250 hours of it so far), Voice (I’ve been practicing it daily for close to a year now, have taken voice therapy classes, etc) and Face). I’ve received quotes from two of who I consider are the most skilled doctors are in the area of facial surgery, Dr. Ousterhout and Dr. Suporn. I consider Dr. O the best, without a question. Dr. Suporn is good from what I’ve seen, but I’m not fully convinced with his work yet. Dr. O is in San Francisco, CA, USA. Dr. Suporn is in Thailand. Here’s the kicker …. my quote from Dr. O is approx. $33,000.00. My quote from Dr. Suporn is approx. $7,000. That’s a pretty big difference. The procedures I’m planning on are as follows: Forehead (Type III w/ Dr. O), Scalp Advancement, Rhinoplasty, Upper Lip, Jaw Tapering and Tracheal Shave. Anyways, right here and now, I’d really like to go with Dr. O, it’s just that the price difference is SOOOOOOO significant. Anyways, I decided to sort of give myself a treat while cutting down on the Dr. O total by getting my trachael shave done by Dr. Schrang (who is within a short day’s driving distance from my residence). His total cost is approx. $3,300 and that is roughly what the cost of it is with Dr. O. This way I can get the tracheal shave taken care of (something really important to me) and do it sooner than later. And then if I don’t choose Choice A, no biggie, the lack of an Adam’s Apple really won’t be too noticable !! So, I’m going under the knife in less than two months !!! I feel comfortable that as far as the trachael shave goes, I’ll get just as good work from Dr. Schrang as Dr. O. The forehead is Dr. O’s mastery. Anyways, that is the face update.
